What is your interest in forgivness?
I would like be more forgiving of myself when I do not live up to the Truth of the Christ within.
What would you like to share about yourself?
I am blessed to count Charles Thomas as a friend.

A Poem To Share

FORGIVENESS

Clearing my mind of all thoughts of remorse
I waited on inner peace -
But it did not come.

Releasing my heart from the prongs of pain
I anticipated joy -
But it alluded me.

Wishing away memories too deeply ingrained
I searched for rest -
But it never came.

Believing myself healed of unresolved hurt
I asked God to forgive me -
But my heart remained heavy.

Remembering forgiveness is mine to give
I surrendered and I gave and lo -
I too was forgiven.

Thanks Dianne, there is a truth that is seems is only expressed in poetry.
Forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors...

"Building more prisons or putting more police on the street will not make your neighborhoods safer. These actions just exacerbate the situation by raising the level of fear. If you want to improve these situations, bring the work of forgiveness into the prisons and the neighborhoods. Hire more teachers and counselors and social workers. Feed people, challenge them emotionally and mentally. Offer them experiences of safe emotional bonding. Provide them with opportunities for education and training. Give them hope. Give them acceptance. Give them love. This is the work of a peacemaker. This is service. This is embracing your brother as yourself." --- from "Love Without Conditions" by Paul Ferriri.
