I just received an e-mail from my friend Karen Moore, Executive Director of the
Holistic Development Community Center, located in Detroit, Michigan. Karen has been a long time supporter of the Detroit Unity Temple Forgiveness Ministry. She shared a link to a very unusal forgiveness story on the
Oprah.com website. It is most unusal but it could be very inspirational for people who are wrestling with forgiveness issues. When I hear about dramatic forgiveness cases, I wonder if people can identify with them. Now, I have come to appreciate media references to forgiveness as a way we can bring forgiveness into popular discourse. It is for this reason that I want to acknowledge Karen for bringing this to my attention and I want to express appreciation to the members of WeForgive who read the article and review the support material including the 4 steps to forgiveness and Jack Kornfield's forgiveness meditations.
After you have looked at the material, either comment on this blog or start your own discussion here in the WeForgive community. I also encourage you to talk to your friends and family offline about this case as a way to develop your own ideas about and capacities for forgiveness. Thanks for participating in this community and spreading the forgiveness message.
